What size are Poshmark photos?

Poshmark's public support articles we could read explain how to list, not a required pixel size, file-size cap, or aspect ratio. SelfShot squares closet photos to 1200 by 1200 JPG and keeps the files modest so they are easy to post from a phone. That size is this preset.

A taller 1200 by 1600 cover is available if you want it. It is not something this review could confirm as a Poshmark requirement. Square remains the default so a closet looks consistent and the whole item stays in frame.

Do Poshmark photos need to be square?

SelfShot pads each photo to a 1:1 frame instead of cropping it, so the whole item stays visible. That is a choice for a tidy closet, not a published Poshmark rule.

If you photograph flat lays or hanging items in portrait, the square preset adds a border rather than cutting off the top or bottom. Use the portrait preset if you want a 3:4 cover instead.

Shooting your closet on a phone

Most Poshmark sellers shoot on a phone, which means HEIC files and rotation data that can flip a photo sideways. SelfShot reads HEIC on your device, fixes the orientation, and exports JPG, all without uploading anything.
